The Crumbs

Why two slices of bread?

Years ago someone made the statement “I could make anything into a sandwich by placing it between two slices of bread”.  And, you know what?  They’re right.

That was my thing, how I liked it, and it continued throughout my life.

I really could live every day on sandwiches.  Some say they could live on chocolate, pizza, and pasta, but not me. I’m a die-hard sandwich person.  Well, at least I was.

I honestly didn’t think I could live without it, till I actually made it happen.

Now I haven’t completely cut bread from my life, but I have eliminated it daily.  If I’m in a hurry and dining out is what’s for dinner, well that’s what’s for dinner.

That’s a complete change from where I used to be.

The Problem

I’m very overweight.  I weighed 348 pounds at my highest weight ever.

That’s not acceptable.  It’s hard to live and weigh that much.  The constant pain and difficulty in every daily task are unbearable at times.

It has to change.  I have to change.

The Plan

I’ve decided enough is enough!  I’m going to lose the weight and keep it off (this time for real, ugh).

During my quest to get motivated, I stumbled upon 310 Nutrition.  For about a month I read the comments submitted to the 310 Facebook Community.  You know, people just like me.  Well some of them are anyways.

What I found was an overwhelming amount of love, support, and enthusiasm from the community.   The atta girls and boys virtually everywhere.   Their support system is right there on Facebook.  It wasn’t long and those comments took over my Facebook feed.  Talk about support, WOW.  That’s what I need!

Then, someone reposted Tim Shariff’s video on Facebook, How to Lose a Pound a Day.

Exactly what I needed to hear.

He talks about clean eating which I already knew about but needed to hear it, again.  And, again.

Tim makes a lot of sense.

I mean who get’s fat on green beans? Nobody!

Fast forward to today…

I’m eating cleaner than I have ever had, probably since I was a baby.  I’m dropping pounds and feeling better by the day.

I’m not perfect, not even close.  But, I don’t eat everything between two slices of bread anymore.

Why Blog?

It’s my story to share with those who want to know, learn, and follow my journey.

It’s accountability, proof, and a constant reminder to keep going and not give up!
